Evaluating GAME plan progress

So far in my GAME plan I have been spending a lot of my time researching different software, costs and the laws that go along with using the software and technology. This research has made me more overwhelmed than I was before. I now realize that there is a lot more that I need to learn than I had previously realized. Through this research I have learned more technology tools that I can use in my lessons, for example, webspiration. I still have a lot to learn about the software that I would like to use in my classroom, there are a lot of neat tools out there that I don't know yet. From now on I plan on limiting my research to topics that pertain to my classroom and my lessons.

  1. Hi Shileah,

Research in all that is out there for educational technology would be overwhelming! I definitely agree that you should narrow your search. The hardest part is that just about any technology tool can be applied to any class. Do you agree? How will your narrow the search?

  2. Narrowing research is so difficult sometimes. What I try to do is set a number of resources to check out, like 8 or 10. Then from there, I pick 3-5 that really interest me, then go from there. I think that it is easier to set a number rather than just looking at tons of sites and resources. Hope this helps!

  3. Shileah,
I find that sometimes I start looking for one thing and end up with a totally different search because of links I follow, sites that catch my eye, new ideas that are generated. What types of resources are you thinking you would be able to use best in your classroom? I am interested in the idea of the internet based software - "computing in the clouds" I heard it called recently - I think that will open a lot of doors for our classrooms, especially as funds are so limited these days.
    Good luck with your research.
